Hi guys, so I’ve been thinking about how many of my readers I left here on the wordpress community when I became self-hosted. It’s one of those blogging lessons no one really mentions!
I decided to try and post more often on this site so that I can reconnect with you. And if you ever want to see more of what I’m sharing, you can head over to my main blog LoveNiki.com
Lately I’ve been a busy little bride to be! Luckily, there was time a few weekends ago to visit the Griffith Observatory. And when I say “there was time”, I actually mean that a photography client requested the location for their family photos so we were able to go.
You can see the whole city from up there. The air is crisp, the sun is warm, and it’s a great spot for everything from working out to catching up on your reading. Both of which I’m incredibly behind on!
So how is your blog coming along? Have you made any big changes lately? Leave me links in the comments so I can stop by & check our your little home on the internet!
Hi there! Just wanted to remind you guys that I blog at LoveNiki.com I still haven’t had any luck contacting wordpress so none of my subscribers have been moved over but you can subscribe on the new site!
Hope to see you there!
I’m excited to make the move to a self-hosted blog! LoveNiki.com will be my official home! So what happens here to this here wordpress site? Well, here are the answers to a very few important questions.
Where can I read LoveNiki? You can continue to read the LoveNiki blog at LoveNiki.com (It will be available on bloglovin’ after a couple weeks)
Will I continue to be subscribed to your new blog? Yes, wordpress will be helping me switch all my subscribers over to my new self-hosted blog! BUT if you want to receive new posts via email, you’ll need to sign-up at LoveNiki.com, there’s a subscription box on the right hand side under my photo.
What does self-hosted mean? Basically, I’m moving from wordpress.com to wordpress.org which allows me to have more control over my site & help me grow it.
Can I visit the new site? Of course! The site will be live while it is being worked on :) Everything should be officially finalized in a week.
No, it doesn’t snow here in southern Cali but it does cool off a little for the late fall/winter. The tricky part for me has always been trying to look cute under layers of fabric. Lol.
For this link-up I asked a few bloggers to show me how they’d style a chilly date night outfit. Click their image to check out their outfit photos! They did an awesome job.
Also, let me know if you want to participate in next week’s link up! The challenge will be to create a look that’s bold & daring!

If you’ve been following LoveNiki for awhile, you know how much I love Selena Gomez. And after her attending her concert last week (thanks to the best bf ever!), I realized that we believe in and stand for a lot of the same things. I can only imagine the pressure she is under to be skinnier, sexier, and cooler but she doesn’t seem to care. She embraces who she is and encourages others to do the same.
I spotted her geek crop top on her instagram and thought she looked effortlessly cool in it. So I looked around for one but I also realized that it’s actually getting a little chilly around here so maybe a warmer option would be a good idea. Lol.
Not only was I able to find a cute geek sweater from Kiki La’Rue (find it here) I also learned what Kiki La’Rue stands for. They are a company who believe in embracing who you are. If you check out their instagram @ShopKikiLaRue you’ll see how they offer pieces for many different shapes & sizes and that their models are real women who are both diverse and beautiful.
Let me know what you think of this geek chic sweater! And I’m always looking for looks to recreate so feel free to leave links to images in the comment section!
You can also email me directly at Niki@LoveNiki.com :)
If I had a giant bank account, recreating looks would be a cake walk. But this is real life and you’ve got to work with what you’ve got!
To create this look on yourself focus more on the outfit as a whole rather than the details. You’ll need: a striped shirt, a (fedora) hat, coat/jacket/blazer, and jeans. The items don’t have to be identical just similar. And you can switch up the footwear to whatever you like. Add a heel, cute flats, or even your fav pair of boots.
And if you have a little extra cash this pay check you can always purchase the things you need :)
$19.99 Bowery supersoft striped V-neck T from The Gap
$34.80 Laid Back Blazer from Forever 21
$38 Fedora from Nordstrom
$36.80 Faux Suede Booties from Forever 21
Turkey time is almost upon us! It’s a lovely holiday that feeds the soul ….and my stuffing loving tummy. Lol. For this blog link up I asked a few fellow bloggers to share a Thanksgiving dinner outfit idea. They did a great job so be sure to stop by their blogs and check out their outfits! (Links at the end of this post)
For my outfit I wanted a somewhat dressy look but nothing overly formal. I’ll be honest, my sweater is what makes this outfit work. It adds that cozy holiday touch to a simple dress. Plus, it’s nice & warm :) You can check it out here at Kiki La’Rue or you can browse their other lovely coats HERE. I’m sure you’ll find something you like on their site!

Throwing it back to last week’s adventure. Pfeiffer beach was beautiful! It lived up to and then surpassed all of my expectations. I owe you more photos of it; I’m still sorting through everything. I did find a great shot of the coast that Will took. Pretty awesome right?

Saturday we took a little trip to the apple orchards in Oak Glen. There weren’t many apples but there was a corn maze and a pumpkin patch! The weather was perfect, a little chilly in the shade and a little warm in the sun. I’m already looking forward to going back next year!
What did you do this weekend?

It’s cold, it’s hot, it’s raining, and now it’s sunny. That’s just how it is in Cali hence the sweater, shorts and boots combo. On the one hand I like the amount of warm sunshine but it’d be nice to have real seasons. Lol. Maybe things will cool down by Thanksgiving. *Fingers Crossed*
