Around Town: Griffith Observatory

griffith-park-viewgriffith-observatorygriffith-park-observatory

Hi guys, so I’ve been thinking about how many of my readers I left here on the wordpress community when I became self-hosted. It’s one of those blogging lessons no one really mentions!

I decided to try and post more often on this site so that I can reconnect with you. And if you ever want to see more of what I’m sharing, you can head over to my main blog LoveNiki.com

Lately I’ve been a busy little bride to be! Luckily, there was time a few weekends ago to visit the Griffith Observatory. And when I say “there was time”, I actually mean that a photography client requested the location for their family photos so we were able to go.

You can see the whole city from up there. The air is crisp, the sun is warm, and it’s a great spot for everything from working out to catching up on your reading. Both of which I’m incredibly behind on!

So how is your blog coming along? Have you made any big changes lately? Leave me links in the comments so I can stop by & check our your little home on the internet!

Love,

Niki

Big Sur Road Trip!

Road TripTravelTomorrow morning we’re heading out of LA and up to Big Sur! I was blessed with a Mini Cooper Convertible for my 25th birthday last month and what’s the best way to break in a convertible? A long coastal drive through beautiful redwoods.

I still can’t believe my Nina & Tio Joe got me a car…I thought this type of stuff only happened in movies! Lol

The trip takes about five and a half hours but we’ll be making a few stops for food and… Hearst Castle!

castleI’ll be a M.I.A. for a few days but don’t worry, I’ll come back with lots of photos to share and hopefully more videos :)

Follow me on Instagram @MsLoveNiki and Twitter @MsLoveNiki to watch as our adventure unfolds!

5 Life Lessons

LifeLessons

Turning 25 freaked me out. Why? Because no one considers you much of a kid anymore and the world expects so much more of you. Plus, your decisions are more impactful and can literally shape the rest of your life.

After all that fretting, I ended up having the most amazing birthday. I was shown so much love that I could honestly say thank you forever and it would never feel like enough.

I took some time to reflect and realized that I’ve learned a lot this past quarter century. And so, I wanted to pass on a little wisdom of my own on.  Here are 5 of the life lessons I’ve learned along the way to becoming an adult.

Lesson1

Growing up is scary but you have to put yourself out there in order to grow and move forward. Don’t let your fear of making a mistake or failing stop you from trying new things, taking chances, and living the life you dream about. That being said…

lesson2

There will never be a point in your life when you’re finally “there”. This journey we’re on is in constant motion, there is always another goal, another thought, another something. Don’t wait to be skinner before you buy that dress, don’t wait to be rich before you set out to live your life, don’t wait to be “there” or you’ll spend your whole life waiting. Now is the time to live.

lesson3

Being able to share your triumphs, new experiences, and heart with someone will multiply your level of happiness times a million. Fall in love, spend time with family, laugh with your best friend. We are meant to build bonds & healthy relationships so forget your tough guy lone ranger shtick. Make & maintain meaningful connections.

lesson4

It’ll all work out in the end, if you let it. I know, that sounds overly naïve and optimistic. But it’s true. I think we often doubt this fact because our ideas of where and who we’re supposed are so narrow and finite. We must be open-minded, have faith, and trust in divine timing.

Lesson5

This one lifetime is all we get and there are no do-overs. So make the most of yourself! Use everything you’ve been blessed with & push your limits. It’d be truly unfortunate to make it to the end of your days having never fully explored the depth of your own talents and capabilities.

Anthropologie Dresses

I love Anthropologie‘s whole vibe and style. Every time I walk into a store I feel like I won’t survive the day if I don’t buy something. Lol. But, the truth is, I can’t afford to fill my closet with all things Anthropolgie.  I can buy an accessory or something but even those things are higher priced.

On the brightside, they’re stuff  is seemingly high quality and therefore, at the very least, somewhat appropriately priced.

Now, let’s oogle these dresses! They’re perfect for special occasions, and the older I get, the more I realize that there are so many freakin special occasions to get dressed up for …someone’s always getting married, having a birthday party, celebrating a baby….it can be fun, but you’ll need plenty of outfits.

I can’t decide but my favorite has to be between the dress at the top right and the one at the bottom right. So pretty. Which one is your favorite?
