If you’ve been following LoveNiki for awhile, you know how much I love Selena Gomez. And after her attending her concert last week (thanks to the best bf ever!), I realized that we believe in and stand for a lot of the same things. I can only imagine the pressure she is under to be skinnier, sexier, and cooler but she doesn’t seem to care. She embraces who she is and encourages others to do the same.
I spotted her geek crop top on her instagram and thought she looked effortlessly cool in it. So I looked around for one but I also realized that it’s actually getting a little chilly around here so maybe a warmer option would be a good idea. Lol.
Not only was I able to find a cute geek sweater from Kiki La’Rue (find it here) I also learned what Kiki La’Rue stands for. They are a company who believe in embracing who you are. If you check out their instagram @ShopKikiLaRue you’ll see how they offer pieces for many different shapes & sizes and that their models are real women who are both diverse and beautiful.
Let me know what you think of this geek chic sweater! And I’m always looking for looks to recreate so feel free to leave links to images in the comment section!

I have gone through “it’s time for a change, I need a bob haircut” cycle quite a few times. And after the new haircut high wears off a few weeks later, I find myself desperately looking for ways to make my hair grow as long as possible as quickly as possible.
I’ve definitely learned a few things and accepted some difficult truths about hair and growing it out. Here’s what you should know:
1. Stop cutting it. Sounds silly to say but it’s the only way to start adding length. I had a hard time giving up a visit to the salon. It feels awesome to have someone wash you hair! If you have damaged hair, you can stop by the salon for a trim but be sure to space out your appointments so that you’re gaining more than you’re losing.
2. Be patient, it’s going to take YEARS. It’s true. Go ahead, cry. If you want long flowy hair it takes A LONG time. You get about 6 inches a year and that’s before deducting anything you may have trimmed off.
3. You don’t look like her. You know that pinterest photo of that girl with long, sexy, thick hair you stare at daily? Well that’s not you or your hair. That was harsh…sorry…Lol But seriously, very few people warn you that when you grow your hair out it might not look anything like you expected it to.
I was expecting loooong luscious wavy goodness once I got my hair down to my mid back but instead it’s heavy, straight, and a little stringy. I have to rely on styling tools and products for thick looking voluminous hair
4. Massage your scalp. Get the blood flowing to your scalp! A gentle massage increases circulation which aids your body in delivering nutrients to your locks which is a must for optimal hair growth.
5. Eat your carrots! Your diet shows. And I don’t just mean on your waistline. Hair tends to reflect your health (both mental and physical) so eat well and take time to combat stress with relaxing activities.
Hope this helps! Let me know what hair struggles you’re currently dealing with!
It’s cold, it’s hot, it’s raining, and now it’s sunny. That’s just how it is in Cali hence the sweater, shorts and boots combo. On the one hand I like the amount of warm sunshine but it’d be nice to have real seasons. Lol. Maybe things will cool down by Thanksgiving. *Fingers Crossed*

Not every girl is going to be is going to headed to a costume party this year. Some of us will do the ‘too-cool-for-dressing-up’ party thing and the rest of us will probably stay home. I’m actually planning a sugar packed fun movie night with my boyfriend to celebrate Halloween. But does that mean us non-costume people are stuck wearing something boring? Umm….no. Lol.
If anything, I think we have a perfect excuse to wear something more daring. Halloween practically begs you to be bold and edgy, doesn’t it?
I found this tight blue dress at a yardsale for only $3! And last time I wore it I put tights underneath. But this is Halloween… that means a little leg & some knee high boot action is totally appropriate. haha
Here are some sexy little dresses I think would be great for Halloween:
LBD from Lulu’s|Feline Fine from Nasty Gal|Cat Fight from Nasty Gal|Strapless Faux Leather from F21
Time for another costume for our Halloween month! I dressed up as a maid a few years ago and have had this outfit just sitting around in a closet. That’s actually what made me think of another way to save money for Halloween.
Costume swap! You may be completely over what you wore last year but what about all the cute costumes your friends wore? You can even use pieces from each other’s costumes to create something entirely new.
What old costumes do you have hanging in your closet?
For the record, I wore it first. Lol. Normally I recreate looks but this time I happened to stumble across a dress that looked just like the one I bought last year. My dress is knitted/crocheted and Jessica’s is shiny and metallic but the look is pretty close.
I searched everywhere to find links and options for you guys but there’s not a lot out there. I think this style and color combo is barely headed back out for the new season but I was able to find one dress that’s….semi-similar Lol Check it out: Nasty Gal Zig Zag Dress

Just a quick little round up of my recent going-ons. I’ve been wearing some new makeup that has been AMAZING. It creates an airbrushed yet natural look, similar to the maybelline makeup I like but with added coverage. I’ll do a post on it soon. I’ve also started my enjoy my week long bday celebration and made my first birthday wish at dinner on Friday :)
The peas are self explanatory. Lmao

I had envisioned wearing this shirt dress with knee high sweater socks, boots, and a scarf but since it warmed up this weekend I had to switch things up a bit. I know everyone is saying this but I too am ready for Fall! I want to wear sweaters and boots and all things warm and cozy!
I hope you had a lovely weekend! Let me know if you need outfit ideas for anything :)

I visited the Aquarium of the Pacific for a Sunday date with my babe :) I loved that there were so many things you could touch. I was able to pet a shark, a sting ray, and a jelly fish!
And thanks to Goldstar.com we only paid half price to get in. Pretty awesome right? As far as my look goes, I wore a simple white dress with a bright and colorful peacock scarf that I tied into a vest. I have pinterest to thank for this cool idea: Scarf Vest DIY
If you’re considering making a trip to the aquarium I do recommend it but you should be prepared to have to deal with A LOT of kids. I make get a little heat just for saying for this but I want to be honest with you guys. We were push, shoved, and surrounded by crying, screaming and loud kids in every exhibit. They were pretty much running wild.
Just a head up incase you thought you were going to get a quiet and romantic day at the aquarium. Lol. All that considered, is the aquarium a place you’d like to visit? The animals alone are worth it!

Today I’m sharing a very daring look! In the August Issue of Mexico’s Marie Claire, Lea Michele looked amazing in nothing but a tuxedo and black briefs. This look seems to be making the rounds right now, you’ll see a very similar outfit worn by Selena Gomez herself in her new music video Slow Down.
But is this really a look you can rock to a party? Yes! Just grab a blazer, throw on your fav pair of shorts and…. make sure it’s the right kind of event! Don’t go trying to wear this to Grandma’s 80th birthday bash.
I’ve been eating a lot cleaner and trying to workout more often so my blazer is not as form fitting as it use to be but I sort of like it a little bigger. It has the whole “boyfriend jeans” vibe going on.
Hope you guys like it! Let me know what you think!
