The Celestial Surgeon
If I have faltered more or less In my great task of happiness; If I have moved among my race And shown no glorious morning face; If beams from happy human eyes Have moved me not; if morning skies, Books, and my food, and summer rain Knocked on my sullen heart in vain:- Lord, thy most pointed pleasure take And stab my spirit broad awake!
By Robert Louis Stevenson
Many Christmases ago, I received a children’s book of poetry. I loved it. And til this day I still think about the first time I read some of what would become my favorite poems. Have you ever been inspired by a poem?
I’m considering including more ‘lifestyle’ posts here on LoveNiki. Fun posts, random post, a little bit of everything for girls who love fashion and style but are also interested in a little something extra. Let me know your thoughts :)

I get to go shopping Sunday! It’s been a while since I last did some serious shopping. I’m definitely going to be hunting down deals to get the most bang for my buck. That’s sort of what inspired today’s post. I wish every season meant a brand new wardrobe but the reality of it is that, I have to find ways to rock seasonal stuff all year round. It allows you to have more outfit options no matter what time of year it is.
Major props to my mom for playing my photographer this morning! I think she did a great job. And yes, these shots would have been extra cool if I drove a Lambo or something but I don’t. Lol. I drive an ’98 honda civic and I love it! It’s the first and only car I’ve ever owned :)
This outfit was inspired by…..the renaissance period! I love the renaissance faire so much. The costumes, the axe throwing, the everything! I was able to rent my costume there but I did purchase the furry hood shown above from a very creative and talented vendor. She made it out of ugly old sweaters, cool huh? This faire runs until Sunday May 19th and is located in Irwindale, CA. If your interested in going CLICK HERE for more info and to buy tickets. It’s definitely worth the price of admission!

We arrived early in San Diego for the film festival. It was nice being able to enjoy the shoreline and sunshine on a Tuesday. I also had a chance to work on my photography :) I’m really hoping to win a new camera and guess what? You can help me!
CLICK HERE and vote for @MsLoveNiki to help me get me closer to winning a Canon T4i! I’m a finalist in their contest and if I cross my fingers any tighter they may fall off. Lol. It’ll mean a lot to me if you go vote<3

Remix number 3! It took 3 blouses to create this look. Lol. Layering is a little tricky for me. Because of my body shape, I can end up looking like a bulky blob if I’m not careful.
Yesterday’s look was so simple, relying only on an accessory to make it pop but today is all about dimension and color. The red spaghetti strap keeps the look festive, the white lace top adds the dimension, and the denim top tones it all down and pulls it together.
What do you think? Success?
p.s. I didn’t notice until I uploaded these photos that they remind me of those grade school photos you have to take with the fake tree. Lol….you know which ones I’m talking about?
Since you’ll be seeing me rock the same pair of jean shorts I’ll week I had to give you guys a little something extra! Check out my latest youtube video on LoveNiki TV and be sure to subscribe!! Youtube.com/MsLoveNiki

1 pair of shorts, 3 different looks. Why? Because I’m poor. Lol, okay I’m not completely broke but I do have a budget to stick to. That means sometimes I can afford the sartorial desires of my heart ….and the rest of the time I’m mixing & matching, thrifting, or…if I’m honest….making sure my credit card still works.
Today is the first of my jean short looks. The shorts only cost me $10 last summer when I bought them and every top I share this week is from my closet :)
Next weekend I get to go shopping because…. I’m attending the San Diego Latino Film Festival on March 12th! And that means I need a new dress. More info on this event coming soon (I’m super excited!).
Are you on a pretty tight budget when it comes to clothes? And do you ever feel like you’re stuck wearing the same outfit combos over and over?
I had a lovely weekend adventure :) Tomorrow I’ll share more photos and details of my outfit, I just couldn’t wait to share this with you guys. I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
There’s also something else you should know…. you are all very important to me! And if there is any type of outfit you’d like to see recreated or if you need ideas for an event just leave a comment and let me know. I’d love to help!
