Scarf Turban

I love finding a new way to wear something I already own. The turban headband is a cool year-round accessory. There are knitted ones to wear in the winter and silk ones for the summer.

I’ve wanted to try out this look for awhile but I didn’t want to buy a pre-made one. They’re not super expensive but I can’t just buy whatever I want whenever I feel like it. At least not if I expect to eat on a consistent basis. Lol

A simple twist and little knot are all that’s needed to turn your scarf into a turban headband. Plus, if you’re like me and are prone to headaches, you can make it as loose as you want.

Crop Top Heat

Charlotte Russe Floral Crop Top: Similar| Forever 21 Faux Leather Skirt

I took an extra outfit with me to the desert on Saturday. Little did I know that the wind would be so intense! On the bright side I was able to get one non hair whipped face photo. Lol.

I’m still really loving the high-waisted skirt & crop top look. I just saw Kelly Osbourne’s Cosmo cover and I’m feeling inspired by her version of the trendy look. I want to recreate it using this skirt, a bustier, and a cute button-up. Maybe I’ll try that this weekend :)

Desert Stars

I’m about a month early with this red, white and blue look but the color combo was perfect for a mini road trip to the desert. We (bf+me) went to shoot some footage we needed for a webseries we (bf + me + team) are working on. The wind was so intense! The second I stepped out of the car I felt like I might be blown away.

So….slowly but surely I’m getting back in shape! I’ve started taking mini breaks during the day to do squats, weights, and lunges. I try to do atleast 2 sets of 10 every time I stand up. The awesome part is that without realizing it, by the end of the I’ve done tons of reps! I’m excited. I hope I can still tone it all up before slipping into my swimsuit this summer :)

The Basics

Today marks the beginning of a blog revamp! A lot of changes have already taken place but I think the  next few weeks will be filled with plenty of tinkering. A blog is a reflection of it’s author and so as it’s author grows and changes, the blog tends to follow.

I feel a lot of great changes coming as I approach my 25th birthday. It’s a few months away still but things are shifting in a way that makes me even more excited for the future. Good things are in store for us all.

Taylor Swift “22″

Are you loving Taylor Swift’s new song? I’ll admit it, I’m a sucker for pop music….sometimes it’s just nice to listen to fun & catchy tunes! Her video is also really cute.

I’d love to steal a lot of her clothes & accessories. Lol. I found out that her T-shirt (white one below) sells for $800+. That’s when I decided that an affordable style thief was needed! I was able to find some really awesome and affordable options for you guys :)

Throwback Thursday

Every Thursday I see the #ThrowbackThursday hashtag all over instagram and I started thinking about where LoveNiki started and where it is now. Sharing my passion for dressing up has been so much fun. I get to go shopping Sunday! It’s been a while since I last did some serious shopping. I’m definitely going to be hunting down deals to get the most bang for my buck. That’s sort of what inspired today’s post. I wish every season meant a brand new wardrobe but the reality of it is that, I have to find ways to rock seasonal stuff all year round. It allows you to have more outfit options no matter what time of year it is.

Major props to my mom for playing my photographer this morning! I think she did a great job. And yes, these shots would have been extra cool if I drove a Lambo or something but I don’t. Lol. I drive an ’98 honda civic and I love it! It’s the first and only car I’ve ever owned :)

Renaissance Faire Outfit

This outfit was inspired by…..the renaissance period! I love the renaissance faire so much. The costumes, the axe throwing, the everything! I was able to rent my costume there but I did purchase the furry hood shown above from a very creative and talented vendor. She made it out of ugly old sweaters, cool huh?
