Red Carpet Style

Red Carpet Style

Hello there!

Today I’m really excited to share an amazing experiences with you. Last Friday I attended The Imagen Awards because a film I helped produce was nominated! The Imagen Awards aims to recognize, encourage and reward positive portrayals of Latinos in all forms of media. The Foundation also works to create, promote, and enhance opportunities for all Latinos in front of and behind the camera and throughout the entertainment industry.

It took me ALL day to get ready! But I enjoyed every minute, it made me feel like a princess :) I had some amazing people help me pull my look together and I owe them sooo much because God knows I wake up looking like a train wreck every morning! Lol. My hair was done by the amazing Lupe at Elegance Salonif you’re in the inland empire and are looking for a stylist that does great work, you should definitely give her a call!

My makeup was done by Laura of Miss Prissy and I wish I had gotten more photo of it because the few I did get, truly don’t do it justice. She was able to make me look flawless and perfectly contoured. She specializes in a variety of makeup including special effects for film & TV. She’s located in the SGV but does travel!

Now for fun, star sightings!!! In no particular order, here is a list of some of the celebs I saw: Constance Marie (George Lopez Show), Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Recreation), Bella Thorne (Shake it Up), Jon Huertas (Castle)

I felt really blessed just attending The Imagen Awards. It was a great experience. Being in a room full of people who have accomplished their dreams, at least in part, of creating a successful career in the entertainment industry was inspiring. I think life is too short not to pursue the things you truly want to do. Whatever your dreams may be…acting, singing, opening a flower shop….whatever your heart is calling you to do, do it.

Love,

Niki

P.S. Believe it or not I did wear a dress from Windsor to the awards! Yep…a girl on ANY budget can look red carpet ready!

Change Your Life Today!

“Love life and it will love you back.” -Arthur Rubinstein

I love to dress up, most girls do. Lol. But I’m also passionate about life and making the most of every day. Along with more style posts you will start to notice a sprinkling of lifestyle posts here and there on LoveNiki. (I have a great article to share with you today!)

There will be various topics but the goal will always the same. Enjoy life, have fun and remember that more important than any outfit is creating a life that brings you joy and fulfillment.

Now, this is not to say that I’m an expert or that I have all the answers. Rather, I am on the same journey as you to create a wonderful life.

Even when it comes to fashion, I hope to make it more about having fun, being creative, and embracing who you are. Remember, life is not a beauty pageant. I repeat, Life Is Not A Beauty Pageant.

On to our first lifestyle post.

I found an a.m.a.z.i.n.g. article. It has the potential to reshape your life. Before You read it though, ask yourself this question posed to us by Susie Steiner, novelist & freelance journalist ,” What would your biggest regret be if this was your last day of life?”

The Best Baroque Pants

Why are these the best baroque pants? Because, as I might have mentioned before….they were only $10 at Kohl’s! Since I dubbed February love month, I thought this week should be about doing what you love. In just a few months a lot of you will graduate from high school or college and there’ll be one thing standing between you and that dream opportunity, an interview.

Maybe it’s for an entry level job in the field you’re passionate about or an amazing summer internship. Either way, I wanted to help by sharing a few interview outfit ideas this week. First up, is a business look with a lot of personality. I think this outfit is great if you want to look sharp but also show that you are bold and different.

Do you have any interviews coming up? Do you love your current job?

Niki

DualWalletsOnly a few days left until Valentine’s day! And I have a fun handmade gift idea to share with you :) My friend Bree makes cute duct tape wallets that you can have customized. I love that they’re a unique gift and that she makes them herself. There’s something truly endearing about anything homemade. I think it’s because you know that if someone is using their free time to work on a project than there’s love and passion behind it.

You can check out Bree’s Facebook HERE and tomorrow I’ll be featuring her adorable heart clutch wallet!

Since my boyfriend was nice enough to join me for the photos, we ended up shooting with his cousin Christina. She’s a talented photographer and I really hope we can work with her again soon!

Let me know what you guys think about these awesome duct tape wallets. How would you have yours customized?!

What You’ll Need:

Urban Decay Smoked PaletteMaybelline Color Tattoo

This week featured the lovely and talented Emma Stone. I love her sweet style and how genuine she comes across! As I continue to recreate looks, I want you guys to know that LoveNiki is a place full of love. I’m not here to bash or judge celebrities’ style or life.

I love being able to look at them and the world around me for inspiration. I think the world would be a much better place if we all made an effort to support each other and our uniqueness :)

On to the makeup… The biggest secret to Emma’s look is getting the blue to pop. Use a white cream base like the one above and your blue shadow will really stand out! I may be a beginner but playing with makeup is fun. Lol
